Rev. Ricky Manalo, CSP, is a member of the Missionary Society of St. Paul (The Paulists). He is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and the Washington Theological Union. His liturgical music is published by Oregon Catholic Press and GIA Publications. He has written articles on liturgy, pastoral music, and intercultural ministry. He is a member of the North American Academy of Liturgy, a board member of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM), and is an advisor to the U.S. Bishops’ Secretariate on Cultural Diversity in the Church. Currently he is a doctoral candidate at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA, and an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University and the Jesuit School of Theology.

Listen to Fr. Ricky as he shares with us in word and music the importance of cultural awareness in the liturgy. He will share both theoretically and practically how to benefit from the multi-cultural influences in our Church. Manalo will also incorporate an understanding of special cultural adjustments as we move into this era of the New Roman Missal.

ValLimar Jansen
ValLimar is a highly regarded singer, composer and recording artist. She has served as a college/university professor, a leader of worship and prayer and a workshop presenter at conferences across the United States and abroad. In 2007 she performed at Agora papal event in Loreto, Italy, for over 300,000 people. Jansen was recently nominated for a 2010 Unity Award for Femal Vocalist of the Year, and selected to serve as the first solo female MC of the 2011 National Catholic Youth Conference.
Through her words and through her music, ValLimar will be sharing with us the many ways in which our theme, "Aloha Is...," can translate into other cultures.
